In this special Plant Dieta Retreat for Women, a maximum of 11 female guests will be welcomed to receive treatment at Caya Shobo from the highly experienced and respected Shipiba maestra, Maricela Rios Inuma. Maricela is an experienced Shipiba Maestra of high level, and comes from a strong familial lineage of medicine knowledge. When she sings in ceremony it is as if a rare and beautiful bird from the jungle emerges in her throat and the Maloka is filled with joy and light. As she is healing you, there is a strong sense that she is not alone and you may feel the dance of beautiful feminine spirits all around yourself. Maricela will be supported by lead female facilitators, including Caya Shobo founding partner Becky.

Caya Shobo Ayahuasca Women's Retreat

While only female guests will be eligible to participate, and the Shipiba Maestra will be the principal healer supported by female facilitators, Caya Shobo’s principal maestro (Arturo) will also attend the Ayahuasca ceremonies and the Master Plant Dieta prescription discussion only.  We feel that Arturo’s immense plant knowledge, and his capacity to provide stability and support in the ceremonies is critical to Caya Shobo’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests. (Note that Arturo will not attend other general discussions and activities of the retreat which will be strictly for women only. Women will also be welcome to opt-out of treatment from Arturo.)

In our perspective this balance of masculine and feminine energies embodied by a maestra and a maestro working together offers the greatest possibility for us to deliver safe, meaningful healing through the ceremonies and plant dieta process. We understand that for some women this will mean a continued search for retreats attended by only female healers. We respect each individual’s choice, and we wish each person the best in their search for healing and personal growth.

This special retreat will aim to provide a powerful, balanced Shipibo plant dieta healing treatment within the safety of a caring, nurturing container of skilled female-only facilitators and female-only guests. We believe this will be one of the most special moments of the year, and we are thrilled to celebrate this journey with you.

  • The retreat includes 8 Ayahuasca ceremonies, personally prescribed plant dieta for each guest, icaro treatment in every ceremony, and other daily plant therapies.
  • We will also host intimate 1-on -1 and group support discussions with our highly skilled facilitators and maestras, to help guests with the intense process of deep cleansing, self-reflection and transformative healing in the way of the true Shipibo plant medicine tradition.
  • And we will also have other fun and educational activities and discussions to help you learn and experience the traditions and native life in the Amazon.
  • Experienced folk and new-comers are welcome alike. Translation support is available in English and Spanish.
  • Accommodation in our spacious standard room (with private bathroom) is $2,550 USD per person, or for $2,750 you can stay in a jungle tambo (shared bathroom). Airport or hotel transfers are available for a small fee of US$25 each way.
  • Bookings will be limited to a maximum of 11 participants, thus offering an excellent opportunity for personalized treatment and a comfortable stay.
  • A 40% deposit is required to reserve your spot.  There is a 6-week cut-off date for refunds. A 12-month rescheduling credit* is available in case of sickness or travel restrictions or the possibility of retreat cancellation due to the pandemic. See Terms & Conditions for more information.
